Job Description
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires BS in Engineering and two years experience
Position will support the ESPAStar line of spacecraft products as a Payload systems engineer. The specific responsibilities of this position will be to manage the planning and technical interface for ESPAStar vehicles to auxillary payloads, both separable and hosted. Work products include development of payload specific accommodation interface documents, (ICD's), weekly interface meeting and reporting for one or more payloads, supervision of specific payload technical design accommodation, support for payload testing during environmental and single line flow, support to on-orbit operations and checkout of payload. Position will include some travel to launch locations and supporting meetings with customers and vendors.
General Job Responsibilities
1.Develop payload specific ICD documenting all mechanical, electrical, and functional interfaces to the host ESPAStar
2.Track and status giver-receiver documentation necessary for integration and testing
3.Develop testing scripting material for early risk reduction testing and flight hardware performance/functional testing
4.Coordinate specific requirements and accommodation requests from the payload to the host platform
5.Assist payload vendor and customer with development of operational mission and scenarios for the payload
6.Develop and execute on-orbit procedures
7.Support launch site integration considerations for payload
8.Support host platform systems engineering efforts; requirements, verification, test planning, environmental test campaigns
Must have TS/SCI Clearance
