Duties and Responsibilities

The EDP Programmer II assists the RMV Security Administrator in providing IS Security services to RMV personnel, MassDOT Personnel and RMV Business Partners. An incumbent of this position is responsible for performing the following duties which includes but is not limited to:

Provide superb customer service to internal and external customers via phone, email, fax, US Mail and in-person to communicate, in a professional manner, RMV IS Security requirements, provide status on security requests, research information to complete a security request, and provide problem resolution with quick and accurate responses.

Triage, analyze and respond in a timely manner to all requests submitted to department including:

* deactivation of accounts within the hour of receipt of the request
* requests for new security accounts
* requests for changes to security levels
* resetting of passwords

Maintain all department security related documentation and update documentation for accuracy and content

Ability to identify the RMV system the user will need security access for as well as be able to identify the system that needs a password reset

Coordinate training with RMV Training Department for business partners as a pre-requisite to receiving RMV system access

Perform basic office skills: taking a message, retrieving faxes, updating security forms, documents, creating emails, summarizing issues using computer software such as MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook

Maintains both electronic and paper files.

Report any known security breaches to supervisor.

Utilize specific RMV systems, MS Access, EOTSS Intempo, EOTSS Service Now to update user profile information and report system problems

Ability to keep up to date with changes to systems and processes as they apply to the duties of this position

The hours for this position are 8:30am to 5:00pm.

Minimum Entrance Requirements:

Applicants must have at least (A) two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience in electronic data processing work, the major duties of which included computer programming and/or computer systems analysis or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.

Substitutions:

I. An Associate's degree with a major in the field of data processing or computer programming may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.*

II. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major in the field of data processing or computer and/or information science may be substituted for the required experience.*

III. A diploma for completion of a two year full-time, or equivalent part-time, program in a recognized non-degree granting business or vocational/technical school above the high school level with a major in the field of computer programming may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.*

IV. An official transcript from a recognized business or vocational/ technical school as evidence of completion of a program consisting of at least 650 hours of instruction in the field of computer programming may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.

V. Graduation from the data processing course of a recognized vocational/technical high school may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.* .

* Education toward such a degree or diploma will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
