Job Description

This position is for a Systems Engineer who is expected to provide technical support working in a Testing and Integration lab. The testing environment revolves around RF and Oscilloscope/Spectrum Analyzer skills and/or Unix/Linux Computer O/S skills are preferred; as well as exposure to a VxWorks real-time embedded environment. Software skills are desirable to have in this system integration environment that deals with integrating software into the various benches; as well as at times assisting with the Software team that utilizes our benches.

The candidate must be able to work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential as is familiarity and experience in applying Systems Engineering Best Practices.

The Systems Engineer will represent the Whole Life Engineering Department - West as a key team member of the program. This will include identifying key issues and addressing them with the optimal technical solution. Ability to manage and apply the knowledge of Systems Engineering, Test & Integration, Reliability, Maintainability, Safety, and Supportability (RMSS) techniques, theories, applicable company/industry standards, processes and policies to ensure that product(s) are developed which can be deployed, maintained and repaired within acceptable limits. Perform investigations, analyze data and consider other technical tasks necessary to evaluate evolving design efforts and assist in recommending design alternatives in order to meet or improve RMSS requirements. Interfaces with other members of project or program teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions to meet customer and company objectives.

The System Engineer is responsible for the following:

* Provide System Engineering support on Global Hawk CLS Program
* Meet contractual performance based metrics
* Support technical issues on depot repairs
* Collect and prepare of engineering performance data on the program and reporting this performance to the engineering and program management
* Coordination of engineering resources supporting the program ensuring timely, value-added components is provided

Required Skills:

* Minimum 4 years of engineering experience, with at least half of that in system design, test, and support experience
* Prior experience performing work tasks with minimal supervision
* Experienced presenter with prior responsibility for communicating and delivering messaging effectively with all levels of management and peers
* Possess demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
* Able to manage multiple priorities in a schedule-driven environment
* Ability to conduct analysis, investigations, and consider other technical tasks necessary to evaluate evolving design efforts and assist in recommending design alternatives.
* Able to travel as needed
* Ability to Obtain DOD Security Clearance
* U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
* U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

Desired Skills:

* Knowledgeable of Raytheon's Best Practices
* Sustainment related management background
* General knowledge of Performance Based Logistics, Contractor Logistics Support practices and policies, and Repair of Repairable techniques

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math, Science, Computer Science or other related technical discipline.
