As part of the sales team, this position provides bid and proposal (B&P) network engineering support to critical federal government RFPs to ensure successful systems integration and implementation of Wireline, Wireless and IT Products/Services. Collaborates across the business and with external partners while contributing to business unit through a diverse scope of pre-sales and/or post-sales network engineering activities requiring complex solutions.
Key Roles and Responsibilities: This position consults on technical issues during joint sales call with the sales team. Responsibilities include consulting with internal and external business partners to deliver complex network service solutions integrating across a combination of standard, non-standard, and external company products and services. Works on complex problems and solutions where analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors. Position provides technical expertise in IP Networking, diverse Ethernet and TDM circuit design, layer 2 encapsulation protocols, MPLS network architecture, and the overall installation, operations, and maintenance of company products. Understands, develops, and delivers systems/applications solutions and designs to B&P team. The engineer analyzes practices, procedures, and data to determine answers to technical challenges. This position demonstrates a full working knowledge of assigned company products and services. Requires seasoned in-depth knowledge of functional/process area and is considered a subject matter expert. Engineer creates recommendations, and implements new methods, techniques, and/or procedures for complex solutions with diverse scope. Engineer is typically viewed as a mentor or coach.
Education: Typically requires a bachelor's degree.
Experience: Typically requires 10-15 years of experience in systems/network engineering.

Desired: Desired areas of expertise include knowledge of AT&T's Strategic Services (including VPN, MRS, Cloud and Security) products, processes, systems, and personnel. Must have knowledge of Cisco and other IP Networking equipment vendor offerings. Industry recognized IP Networking and Security Certifications are desired. Must be able to work collaboratively with Federal Government Customers, AT&T Sales, AT&T Programs, and AT&T Product teams to attain success in a complex and ever-changing environment.
