This role is in EC2 Capacity Lifecycle. We are responsible for writing software for perfecting capacity elasticity science, delivering the best possible instance lifecycle experience considering optimum hardware and software configurations, managing our ever-growing multi-billion-dollar in-fleet hardware for most optimum utilization, and expanding the AWS footprint in many new regions every quarter.

The EC2 Capacity Lifecycle Team is searching for a passionate and talented support engineer to help us manage our supply and demand management systems. Within Capacity Lifecycle, this team owns measuring and monitoring the health of the world's largest fleet of compute resources and orchestrating capacity elasticity to optimize capacity availability on behalf of our customers. This includes continual improvement to the processes and systems that support of weekly orders and forecasting, systems innovation, new product launch, demand migration planning, and capital efficiency tracking. This is a high impact role offering an opportunity to interact with a wide spectrum of internal teams, define tool requirements and create processes that automate and optimize all aspects of demand planning. This role requires working with professionals in many different domains including Engineering, Forecasting, Product Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Data Center Planning, Sales and Service Teams.

Responsibilities will include using statistical and analytic methods to systemize the identification of bottlenecks, root causing issues and orchestrating actions across our capacity management infrastructure to remediate issues. Successful candidates will be well versed in automation, system design and remediation, technical leadership, and collaboration. We are looking for people that are self-driven, able to deal with the ambiguity between technical and business trade-offs. Being a team player is a must. You will be working daily with your team members to manage day-to-day capacity availability activities.
