Agios (agios.com) is a biopharmaceutical company committed to applying our scientific leadership in cellular metabolism to transform the lives of patients with cancer and rare genetic diseases. We are growing rapidly with an active research and discovery pipeline across both therapeutic areas. Agios has two approved oncology precision medicines and multiple first-in-class investigational therapies in clinical and/or preclinical development.

Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic Systems Engineer to join our growing Agios Informatics team. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for supporting Discovery Research Scientific Informatics tools and platforms. The position offers opportunity to apply hands-on experience in architecting, coding and deploying of in-house and off-the-shelf systems. Agios Informatics team delivers cutting edge informatics solutions based on a wide range of system building blocks: operating systems, databases, programming languages, and leveraging third party tools. The ideal candidate will possess a mix of software development experience and application architecture with focus on third party software and applications.

Key Responsibilities

* Support software, systems and platforms for scientific and lab users
* Coordinate with external vendors on the release of new tools as well as updates to existing tools
* Participate in architecting and executing deployment of scientific off-the-shelf software across heterogeneous platforms
* Participate in software development life cycle of internally developed tools

Minimum Requirements

* B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science with 5+ years of software development and System Design and Architecture
* Software development experience using Eclipse or Visual Studio
* Hands-on coding experience using C#, Java
* Experience deploying on premise and cloud based tools and platforms
* Hands-on experience developing scripts using Bash, PowerShell and text processing tools like AWK and SED
* Administrative level of experience managing Linux and Windows operating systems
* Developer level experience with RDBMS: Oracle, SQL Server and PostgreSQL

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience developing and maintaining software within life sciences organizations including LIMS/ELN
* Experience with cloud computing using AWS
