Maxar Technologies is currently looking for a Sr. Technical Specialist located in either Herndon, VA or Westminster, CO. Our satellite imagery continues to grow in value and importance across a range of U.S. government applications and missions. In this role, you will be responsible to provide mission-focused technical support and user training to U.S. government users. In performing this hybrid role, you will maximize the mission impact of Maxar platform service across U.S. government missions.

The Sr. Technical Specialist leverages his or her technical skills and understanding of the range of U.S. government uses for high resolution satellite imagery to maximize mission value to U.S. government end-users. As Maxar's first line of defense for U.S. government users, the mission support specialist must be a highly resourceful and empathetic problem solver and possess a desire to grow his or her technical skills to constantly improve support to Maxar's most important end-users.

Responsibilities:

* Provide end-user/technical support for Maxar Platform Service on multiple U.S. Government classification domains
* Collect and compile end-user feedback, proactively identify opportunities for system and service improvement
* Identify, refine, and communicate opportunities to address additional U.S. Government mission requirements based on the full range of Maxar products and services
* Provide virtual and on-site training for U.S. Government end-users at varying classification levels
* The mission support specialist will provide responsive mission support 0800-1600 Monday through Friday, but must be willing to adjust his or her schedule to support occasional evening or weekend support requirements
* Flexibility to work multiple tasks and priorities concurrently
* Special projects as required

Minimum Qualifications:

* Must have a current/active Secret security clearance and be eligble to obtain a TS/SCI.
* Requires 5+ years of experience with U.S. Government projects
* 5+ years of experience applying geospatial data and technologies to real-world missions.
* Familiarity with provisioning of geospatial data to end-users via web services.
* Knowledge of commonly used geospatial data formats and trade-offs involved in various file formats.
* Ability to work with end-users to isolate technical issues and apply this understanding in root cause analysis.
* Ability to concisely summarize complex technical issues in written communications.
* Familiarity with various USG end-user segments for satellite imagery.
* Ability to be flexible and work independently and in teams.
* Ability to travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience as an instructor for geospatial products or services.
* Proficiency in multiple US government imagery, geospatial or intelligence applications.
* Familiarity with widely used USG imagery derived products and services.
* Expertise in one or more of the following specialty areas: precision imagery applications; remote sensing platforms and phenomenologies; provisioning of three dimensional data to end-users; feature extraction from satellite imagery; Open Geospatial Consortium standards for streaming geospatial data; front-end or user experience design
* Proficient in analyzing and visualizing data in Tableau
