Job Description

To support the Chief Data Privacy Office in the execution of their duties to ensure that BNY Mellon is able to effectively manage its Data Protection and Privacy risks and regulatory obligations across the Asset Servicing Line of Business. The Data Privacy Steward's role will be to lead the Asset Servicing Data Privacy champion network and have oversight for privacy incidents, regulatory requests and inquiries ensuring the fulfilment of the regulatory and organizational requirements to protect the privacy of both client and staff personal information. The Data Privacy Steward will liaise with other Privacy Steward's across Lines of Business as well as the functions of Risk, Compliance and Legal, as appropriate, to ensure that all instances where there are potential or actual breaches regarding personal data are investigated thoroughly and remediation is carried out as required. Responsibilities:

* Manage Data Privacy and Protection across the Global Asset Servicing business ensuring Privacy processes are established and operating effectively and lead any change management that is implemented in the event of a regulatory change or remediation of issues relating to privacy (e.g. arising from Data Protection Impact Assessments, Privacy by Design, Compliance Monitoring Reviews, Internal Audits, etc.)
* Support the global Chief Data Privacy Office to create the strategy, execution plan, risk and control framework and templates/tools to successfully implement the obligatory requirements of General Data Protection Regulation
* Represent the Asset Servicing Line of Business as the point of escalation for all privacy related incidents, regulatory requests / inquiries and sit on regional privacy forums and committees as necessary on behalf of the privacy champion network
* Monitor Data Protection and Privacy incidents ensuring all issues are resolved in line with targets set and all reports produced in a timely fashion
* Strategically manage the completion of Data Protection Audits/reviews on an ad-hoc basis

Qualifications Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred. 7-10 years of total work experience preferred. Experience in Product Management, operations, client management preferred. MBA or CFA preferred. Product Leadership Certification preferred. Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the bus

* Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required
* 5-7 years of experience in information risk preferred. Experience in financial services is preferred
* Strong knowledge of the financial services regulatory environment is essential
* Demonstrable knowledge of current Data Protection and Privacy legislation is preferred
* Substantial experience of the practical application (business operations and technology) of Data Protection and Privacy laws within the Financial Services environment preferred
* Previous exposure to international data protection and privacy laws and regulations, e.g. Americas (including LATAM) and APAC, is advantageous
* Certified Information Security Management (CISM) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) security certification are highly desirable
