About the Role

About You

You are passionate about using technology to solve big business problems. You are hungry to make a difference. You have created software that can scale and handle complex interchange of data and compute between multiple geographical locations. You like creating software that is robust to various kinds of network, system and state failures, without compromising the data and business applications that use it. You love tuning your software and porting existing software to different architectures. You have also worked with open source build/release/test toolchains and are familiar with multiple languages. You like to optimize your software to run with an extremely light footprint, on high-demand systems, without compromising the core functionality of the systems.

What you'll need:

* 6+ years of experience in designing and developing web applications using Oracle APEX
* Strong knowledge of web technologies like HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, JS frameworks
* Experience with APEX Plug-in development, APEX 5 Universal theme.
* Strong oracle SQL / Oracle PL/SQL programming experience
* Good understanding of enterprise application integration, APIs and web services
* Good understanding of Web application and data security
* Oracle Database performance and tuning
* Attention to detail and strong personal organizational skills and able to work in a fast-paced, high volume environment.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills to handle complex process and technology issues
* Adaptability to new technologies, fast learner, work independently in a rapidly changing environment.
* Experience in domains such as Finance, Payments, Accounting, Procurement preferred
* Bachelor or Masters degree from a premier program strongly preferred

What you'll do:

* Work with the product managers in FinTech to develop products for solving business needs. We use SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, Javascript, APEX, Java, GoLang, Python, Unix Shell Scripting
* Enhance the products in FinTech portfolio and provide extraordinary support of your products
* In addition to building products, we also buy and implement 3rd party software (both cloud and on-premise solutions such as Coupa, Oracle, Concur etc) in order to meet our business needs. You will develop integrations between these products as part of the implementation.
* Work directly with US and International finance business users in Amsterdam and Singapore to provide extraordinary day-to-day application support
* Partner with our business users and troubleshoot simple to complex application issues and develop creative solutions as needed

Finance Business System group works closely with Finance organization to build applications and solutions to enable critical accounting and finance processes at Uber. We leverage industry best practice in Financial and Accounting systems, applying them into complex global business operations at Uber. Our team is in the critical path to enable Uber to become a world class business operation and at the leading edge of operational excellence. Our engineers build, maintain and innovate on the systems that drive the functional areas of Accounting Procurement, Payments, Supply Chain, Invoicing, etc. for Uber.The team uses a healthy mix of vendor and open source tools to deliver cutting edge solutions for optimizing the workflows and automating the processes.

Scope of the role will be to be a voice of technology thought leadership, people skills and helping Uber grow. Scope will also be to help Uber attract great talent and help with the recruiting effort and be the positive change that junior engineers will look up to.
