Come help Amazon create and deploy cutting edge new technologies to help deliver packages to the customer door step! As Senior Manager, Technical Program Management in the Last Mile Technology team, you will be instrumental in helping us create innovative ways to take packages from our fulfillment centers and get them quickly and cost-effectively to the customer. The Last Mile Technology team supports multiple businesses globally, creating the technology that supports deliveries for Amazon Logistics, Prime Now, Amazon Flex, Amazon Fresh, Lockers, and other current and new initiatives.

Our team is seeking a Senior Manager to manage a team of Technical Program Managers. Our TPM team manages large, cross functional programs and projects that support Last Mile delivery. In this role you will be responsible for managing TPMs who deliver large projects end-to-end that span multiple technology and operational teams. These projects will include initiatives such as rolling out new technology to new geographies as we expand, creating new technology to support new businesses and programs, and otherwise building great systems that can scale to Amazon's size and global market places. You will also directly manage projects as needed.

Responsibilities include leading the team in collection of business and systems requirements from internal and external customers, writing specifications, driving project schedules from design to release, and managing the production launch. Your team will lead design/implementation efforts and coordinating across multiple teams to develop optimal solutions. You will be expected to support your team in making appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time-to-market, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote project teams.

As a Senior Manager, you will set new standards for program and project management across our organization, and improve execution to reduce launch time and effort and increase quality. You will develop a team of TPMs by hiring high quality employees, setting clear career goals and providing coaching and mentorship both in your team and across our larger organization.

The right candidate will possess a strong program management background, will have demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects across multiple teams, and will have a well-rounded technical background in current web technologies. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. You will be able to support your team in anticipating bottlenecks, providing escalation management, anticipating and making tradeoffs, and balancing the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.
