Job Description

EBay NYC is looking to hire a world-class Back end Software Engineer to work in our Ads and Merchandising team here at Ebay NYC. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a high profile, high impact team in one of the most well established and highly trafficked companies on the Internet. You will be part of an agile integrated data science/engineering team, which is responsible for all merchandising and personalization algorithms for eBay marketplaces.

We apply cutting edge AI/machine learning techniques working with petabytes of data. You will be working with Applied Researchers/Research Engineers, Data engineers and Software Engineers in a team which includes creating new AI/ML models and algorithms and deploying those models into our infrastructure. Our systems serve billion of requests per day and serves as the backbone for the entire Merchandising system

Minimum Qualifications:

* BS/MS in computer science/engineering
* Minimum 5-10+ years in Back End software development (Professional)
* Strong backend engineering background specifically using Java, Scala or another Object-Oriented language with strong experience using Spring Framework
* Hands on experience with Hadoop
* Hands on experience working with Machine learning algorithms is a plus
* Hands on experience with streaming platforms (i.e. Storm, Kafka, Flink, Beam) is a plus.
