Experience and Education

High school graduation supplemented by successful completion of vocational training in computer programming and five (5) years computer operation and programming experience, including at least one (1) year as Software Systems Specialist I or equvalent.

Job Duties

* Participates in analysis of software system problems of moderate complexity and formulates and implements solutions to such problems.
* Performs programming, testing, and documentation.
* Recommends development of system routines needed for efficient use of computer system resources; designs approved routines; oversees implementation.
* May specialize in specific area of system software, such as telecommunications or information systems with responsibility for implementation and maintenance.
* Periodically participates in planning of enhancements and modifications to software; identifies impact of such changes.
* Trains Software Systems Specialists I as required.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Software Developer

VDJServer is a single-page Javascript web application using bootstrap for UI/UX and backbone to interface with a cloud computing REST API for running research data analysis jobs on the supercomputer. We are expanding VDJServer as part of an international consortium to become a data repository with corresponding UI for researchers to query existing data and to publish their own data. We are looking for a talented web developer to contribute to this development effort and to enhance the existing VDJServer platform with new functionality.

Education: BS in Computer Science, Math, or other related subject or equivalent qualification
