Part of the M365 Security Engineering, we are the M365 Service Authorization team and our core mission is to provide security and access compliance controls to M365 Core and its suite of services. The team's charter is to provide authorization for just in time and just enough access to M365 Core for engineers; enable secure workflow execution with least privileged access model. We are responsible for secure and compliant identity provisioning and federation (IDM); access control policies (RBAC) and access management via M365 Lockbox.

Technical excellence is rooted in demonstrating a strong aptitude for problem solving. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate this broad set of attributes well. As the position is one of software engineer, an ability to code is a base requirement. As there are many forms of coding in practical use today., having experience in languages and frameworks such as Ruby, node.js, Python, C#, Java, C, C++, and various others is acceptable, assuming the candidate can demonstrate proficiency in what they know, and can extend their learning to new languages, tools, and environments.

Basic:

* Strong coding skills in C# or equivalent
* Experience delivering high quality software on time
* 5+ years' industry software engineering experience
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering

Preferred:

* Strong communication skills and a passion for solving hard problems
* Knowledge and experience of cloud security fundamentals
* Design highly performing web services
* Knowledge of distributed systems, large-scale Data technologies development
* Agile development

We are looking for a talented engineer to join the team, one who is passionate about cloud security and performance and has a strong desire to work on worldwide-scale services, debugging and optimizing the various parts of the authorization stack. Responsibilities include feature definition, design, and hands-on development of core authorization, identity and policy services. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented with a drive for results and have a good balance of problem-solving skills and ownership/accountability in independently owning feature areas.
