Basic Qualifications:

5+ years of experience developing commercial software

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Experience with large scale application development using C# or C++

Fluency with complex algorithms and data structures

Distributed applications experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us deliver tools & services to significantly improve developers' productivity. Our engineering team is responsible for a platform that powers Visual Studio project experience for C#, C++, JavaScript, and other languages. You will build new developer experiences for .NET Core projects and optimize performance and scale with state-of-the-art algorithms, data structures, and async programming patterns.

We are customer-obsessed and data-driven. In this role, your will be learning directly from Visual Studio developers and measuring the impact of your changes.

At Microsoft Build 2019, we announced cloud-hosted development environments and browser-based IDE. You'll have a unique opportunity to join this effort from the beginning and design distributed project services.
