Job Description

Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.

Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

About the Opportunity

As a manager at Moat, you would lead a team of engineers who assist in researching and developing our industry-leading invalid traffic detection. Your work on our invalid traffic decisioning and research infrastructure would help Moat make online ad fraud unprofitable and bring transparency and fairness to the advertising ecosystem, and you would hone your skills as a software engineer with challenging, hands-on projects. Your responsibilities would include: mentoring, growing, and representing the team; collaborating with teams around the world; guiding product and technical strategy by developing a cutting-edge understanding of the online ad fraud landscape; and ensuring our invalid traffic detection is well-founded, reliable, auditable, and cost-effective.

About You

* 5 years of engineering and management experience
* A track record of owning large engineering projects from conception to delivery
* Familiarity with Python as well as JavaScript (preferred)
* Experience with AWS, Linux, and cloud application architecture
* Experience with any of: databases (Postgres, Redis, Cassandra, etc.), message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.), compute frameworks (Spark, MapReduce, etc.), web frameworks, and orchestration frameworks (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
