Brain Corp is a San Diego-based AI company that specializes in the development of self-driving technology. Our AI tech represents the next generation of artificial brains for robots - it enables machines to perceive, learn, and navigate complex environments, while avoiding people and obstacles. We partner with commercial equipment manufacturers, and global consumer electronics brands, to transform their products into self-driving robots.

Our robots use variety of sensors including depth cameras, RGB cameras and LIDARs. This position is for a Software Engineer/Research Scientist specialized in robotic perception algorithms, sensory fusion and SLAM using machine learning and traditional techniques.

As a core member of our AI Division, you will work with our world-class team of engineers and scientists to build a platform for the next generation of intelligent machines. Your experience will be pivotal in advancing our mission: safe and reliable robots everywhere.

Tasks & Responsibilities

* Robotic perception using various sensors
* Perform sensory fusion of multiple sensory streams
* Scene understanding algorithms using state-of-the-art machine learning techniques
* 3D environment reconstruction algorithms using SLAM techniques
* Develop robust noise filtering algorithms

Requirements:

* MS or PhD Degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field
* Knowledge of the state-of-the-art perception and machine learning techniques
* Experience in sensory fusion and SLAM
* Strong coding skills Python and C++ in Linux environment

Things that make a difference:

* Experience in deep neural network packages (e.g. TensorFlow, Theano)
* Experience with GPU programming (CUDA, OpenCL)
* Experience converting publications to actual implementations
* Experience with continuous integration and deployment, Agile methodology
* Proven system integration and software architecture skills
* 2+ years experience (industry experience preferred)
* Current U.S. work authorization
