We're looking for an outstanding frontend engineer to work with the Homepage team in NYC as we redefine the face of eBay. You'll be working with a world class team of engineers, designers, product managers, and analysts to create great products that make a difference on one of the world's most trafficked and loved websites. Our technology stack includes Node.js front end app and Java based service for the back-end with MongoDB/MySQL.

Primary Job Responsibilities

On a day-to-day basis, you'd:

* Create robust, rich, responsive web and mobile web homepage for ebay
* Use best practices to write clean, maintainable code for the project, and create a fast, elegant experience for customers
* Handle service calls efficiently and manage data representation for template rendering
* Identify and address performance bottlenecks
* Use best practices to write code and setup processes that are easy to manage and maintain
* Be responsible for major projects and features from design phase to coding and testing

Job Requirements

* Expertise in Node.js + any Javascript framework
* Exceptional abilities with HTML and CSS
* Knowledge of browser peculiarities and how to work around them
* Familiarity with source control, particularly Git
* A constant desire to improve and learn
* Ability to write reusable and maintainable code
* Self-motivation and ability to get things done

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of related industry experience (or Master's and 3+ years)
