Overview

Crestron is looking for a talented and self-motivated individual to provide expertise in the field of software architecture at Crestron. The ideal candidate is a great communicator with strong leadership skills. This is a hands-on position and candidate must have extensive experience in creating protocol specifications.

Responsibilities

* Translate research findings, and business/market requirements into product requirements and specifications
* Develop system architecture, complete system design specification, and subsystem specifications
* Collaborate with development teams to drive design and development of Crestron solutions
* Coordinate the design of subsystems and the integration of the total system
* Evangelize orthogonal, modular and reusable architecture
* Provide expertise in the field of software architecture
* Optimize system performance and resolve performance problems
* Work closely with and provide leadership to other developers to solve design issues
* Provide technical documentation, including but not limited to test procedures, design specifications, etc.
* Work as part of a cross-functional team to take product from concept through prototype and into product launch
* Able to monitor and manage the efforts of third-party vendors and suppliers, define product or component specifications, qualification efforts, and development schedules
* Special projects as assigned

Qualifications

* Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required. Master's degree preferred.
* Minimum of 15 years of experience in software development.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience as a team leader.
* Strong understanding of object-oriented development principles
* Proficient analytical skills to resolve complex problems
* Must be able to perform in a fast-paced interactive development environment
* Hands on experience with C# or Java as well as standard protocols including REST, SNMP, JSON-RPC, XML
* Excellent leadership and negotiation abilities.
* Highly driven, self-motivated and with excellent verbal and writing skills.
