Microsoft's Advanced Services Delivery (ASD) Engineering organization is infusing AI into the digital delivery channels for proactive support (product optimization), reactive support, and customer education across all Microsoft products. This role, Lead Data & AI Engineer, will be key in realizing this vision.

This individual will be part of a team of high caliber Data Scientists (code named Monocle), chartered to both execute in an applied science paradigm by creating AI enabled product features and customer insights, and in a research capacity by leading new innovations and creating novel algorithms and publications. The Lead Data & AI Engineer will work closely with data scientist counterparts, engineers BI architects, product owners, and customer experience researchers to execute on the data processing and engineirng work required for the data science group and create our next gen modern data platform. It requires agility, scientific thinking, and a wealth of curiosity. More broadly, the goal of the ASD organization, is to improve IT health outcomes for Microsoft's largest business and enterprise customers, and to enable profitability of the Microsoft Services business via packaged, highly-scalable digital delivery assets. We do this through three primary deliverables: A platform for performing customer IT health assessments, a catalog of IP that includes digital learning assets and workshops to help educate customers, so they can make the most of their IT environments, and a portal called the Services Hub that ties it all together. We have over 20,000 active customers and are working to improve our platform and the services we deliver on top of it and driving the future of the entire Services business.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

* 5+ years of engineering experience using large data systems on SQL, Hadoop, Spark, etc.
* 5+ years of experience using one or more programming or scripting language like Python, Scala, or C# to work with data.
* 2+ years of experience using tools like Python, R, MATLAB, AMPL, SAS, or other relevant data science tools/environments

Knowledge and experience with key data science areas such as machine learning, deep learning, anomaly detection, predictive analysis, text analysis, exploratory data analysis, and other areas of data science

* Experience performing data analysis including applying statistics
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience presenting to large and small audiences
* Ability to interact with peers and stakeholders to define and drive product and business impact
* Degree in in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or another quant-focused field
* Experience with product and service telemetry systems
