This is the Invention Age and this is where you come in. As a member of our team you will be managing existing and new Qualcomm data centers in Sterling Virginia. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our data center and assume a critical role in maintaining the overall up- time, performance, and capacity. Your responsibilities will include: site management, Moves/Adds/Changes of systems within the site, Installations, configurations of server/networking/storage equipment in preparation of administrators work as well as overall cabling infrastructure. You will report to our current Sterling Virginia data center lead and up to our San Diego teams for site management/including cabling and site growth management going forward. All Qualcomm employees are expected to actively support diversity on their teams, and in the Company. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in a technical field (e.g. Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems) OR Bachelors degree in a non-technical field (e.g. Business, Humanities, Marketing) and 1+ years IT-relevant experience OR High School diploma or equivalent and 3+ years IT-relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications Minimum 4 years experience working in enterprise scale data centers/computer rooms including: -Cabling, power, cooling, inventory tracking, etc -Experience in performing hardware troubleshooting in a large scale server/storage/networking environment -Hands-on and certified professional experienced with Windows, Unix and IP networking -Basic system administration skills for servers, storage, and networking devices Other Needs: -Ability to lift over 50lbs safely and reliably on a day-to-day basis -Ability to travel occasionally to our other locations around the country (if needed) Experience working in enterprise scale data centers/computer rooms including: -Experience working in Co-location facilities -Data center best practices including cabling, power balancing, cooling, inventory tracking, and more -Experience in performing hardware troubleshooting in a large-scale server/storage/networking environment -Over 5 years Hands-on and certified professional experienced with Windows, UNIX/LINUX and IP networking -Over 5 years proven system administration skills for servers, storage, and networking devices including: -Proven experience using data center management tools -Proven track record for working alone, or remotely with minimal supervision -Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as, strong interpersonal skills at all levels or the organization -Vendor management experience. -Meticulous attention to detail and strong organization skills -Take pride in keeping a clean and tidy work environment within the data center/co-location -Self-motivated and able to work alone efficiently and without close supervision -Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as, strong interpersonal skills Education Requirements Preferred: Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Networks & Systems and/or Computer Science and/or Information Technology or equivalent experience Keywords Structured Cabling, Datacenter, MPO, Data Center, Server, Storage, Network, Fiber, Copper
