eCommerce Cart/Checkout Engineer

The Information Technology Department has an opening for an eCommerce Cart/Checkout Engineer. This position is located in Pleasanton, California.

Position Purpose

The Albertsons-Safeway IT eCommerce team is modernizing the eCommerce platform to scale to massively growing customer base and is looking for a Senior Software Engineer join the effort. This an excellent opportunity to play pivotal role in team that is building new capabilities from ground up. A Senior Software Engineer needs to work with cross function teams -- Product Management, Architecture, Quality Assurance to realize the overarching vision achieved by building various components of the Ecommerce Engine. Senior Software Engineer will get an opportunity work the bleeding edge technology such Micro Services, Cloud Computing etc.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Design and implement scalable, secure and highly performant eCommerce applications.
* Work closely with Enterprise Architects and Technical Owners to develop applications aligned with the business strategy.
* Collaborate on cross-functional agile teams that include Product Owners, QA Engineers and fellow Software Engineers to implement the next generation of Ecommerce applications.
* Continuously learn and adapt to ever changing technology landscape to bring varied technology options to the table.
* Participate in design session brainstorming various options discussing pros and cons and help drive consensuses
* Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity

Qualifications:

* Strong interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills
* BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field;
* At least 7 or more years developing n-tier modern software applications in a highly transparent agile organization with iterations, continuous integration and a drive for quality;
* At least 7 or more years of experience in software development building Web Services in Java, SpringBoot and Open source technologies.
* At least 2 years of experience in building Micro Services using cloud native environments like Spring Cloud, AWS or GCP with sounds understanding of Micro Services Design Patterns.
* Experience with real-time streaming processing (Kafka/Storm) is preferred;
* Proven ability to design and implement web services in a RESTful manner, along with understanding our broader service-oriented architectures;
* At least 3 years of experience in developing Web 2.0 applications using AngularJS, React-redux etc.
* Proven ability to work within a cross functional agile team;
* Must be a self-starter and able to work well with others in a fast-paced agile environment with an emphasis on collaborating and assisting the team to meet business objectives;
* Able to use tools such as JIRA, Git, etc. preferred
* Experience of containerized environments like PCF, Docker, etc. is highly desirable
