The Cisco DNA Telemetry team is focused on improving the customer experience of the Cisco DNA appliance and services through instrumentation and analytics. We help customers take full advantage of the services offered and provide visibility and guidance to product and executive leadership.

What You'll Do

In this highly critical role as a DevOps engineer:

* You will drive the design, implementation, and operation of the monitoring, alerting, infrastructure, and tooling components necessary to implement the telemetry platform.
* You will develop simple solutions to address complex problems.
* You will share technical solutions and product ideas with the broader team through design review, code review, proof-of-concepts, and show and tell.
* You will participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to our technology, algorithms and products.
* You will understand all the components in the system in excellent depth, and tune the nuts and bolts of the system to extract the most performance from it.

Who You Are

Required Experience

* Bachelors/Masters in Engineering
* 4-8 years software experience in a technology-based company with 3+ years focused on cloud environments and their supporting infrastructures
* Strong knowledge of key infrastructure technologies:
* Relational Databases (like Oracle/Postgres/MySQL)
* NOSQL Databases (like Cassandra/Hadoop/Spark/Elastic Search/Mongo)
* In-Memory Databases (like Spark/Redis)
* Cloud Services (DaaS, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
* Networking (LAN, WAN)
* Cloud Environments & Technologies (AWS/Azure/Google)
* Proficiency in Linux/Unix Systems
* Proficiency in Docker/Microservices, Swarm/Kubernetes
* Proficiency in configuration management tools like Puppet, Chef, or Ansible
* Proficiency in CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Git, SonarQube, Gradle, Maven
* Proficiency in enterprise service monitoring tools like Prometheus, Nagios
* Experience working in small, highly technical teams employing Agile/Scrum practices
* Ability to deliver results in a short time and experience working in fast paced high growth tech companies
* Validated ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies & languages

Desired Skills

* Working experience in multi cluster environments, packaging, system bring up, performance tuning and operations at high scale
* Proven ability to influence a diverse geographically dispersed group of individuals to facilitate, moderate, and influence productive design and implementation discussions driving towards results
* Exposure to Open Source software and contributions to the Open Source community.
* Proficiency in Programming like Java/Go/Python
