About The Job

This position is a member of the Information Technology Team, within the Data Engineering & Business Analytics group of Revenue Management/Network Planning. This role is responsible for the development and delivery of data solutions to support the analytical needs driven by the Revenue Management and Network Planning communities.

Specifically, you'll do the following:

* Collaborate with leaders, business analysts, project managers, IT architects, technical leads and other developers, along with internal customers, to understand requirements and develop needs according to business requirements
* Maintain and enhance existing data solutions
* Troubleshoot and debug complex issues; identifies and implements solutions
* Create detailed project specifications, requirements, and estimates
* Research and implement new technologies to enhance current processes, security, and performance
* Support the development of coding standards and adhere to best practices and security guidelines
* Work closely with software architects and technical leads to ensure decisions meet long-term enterprise growth needs
* Support applications as necessary, including on-call support

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
* Experience in creating value enhancing data solutions for use in Data Analytics/Data Warehousing environments
* 3 years of development experience in Scala, Python, or R
* 3 years of experience with Big Data technologies and related software development
* Knowledge on Big Data technologies: Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Map Reduce, Pig, Sqoop, Flume, Hbase
* Strong SQL query skills
* Sound knowledge of Relational Databases (RDBMS), preferably Teradata
* 3 years of full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work well within a team environment, as well as independently

* Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
* 5 years of full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience
* Unix Shell Scripting
* Knowledge of NoSQL databases
* Knowledge of Apache Kafka, Spark ML
* Familiarity with BI/Data Visualization tools
* Knowledge of Containers and Cloud technologies
* Experience with agile/scrum methodologies to iterate quickly on product changes, developing user stories and working through backlog
* Build/deployment tools: Github Enterprise and DevOps Toolchain technologies
* Airline Industry experience
* Ability to explain/present technical concepts and adjust messaging based on the audience, including non-technical groups
* Ability to influence through outstanding interpersonal skills, collaboration, and negotiation skills
