Carbon is looking to hire a strong software engineer with an even stronger background in graphics and computational geometry to help Carbon design and implement software to design and process futuristic parts -- like the midsole jointly developed by Carbon and adidas -- that can't be manufactured any other way.
* Building and shipping significant software components. * Experience with Linux and AWS. * Exposure to tools like FENICS, PETSc. * Surface and volume mesh generation, analysis, and adaptation.
Our ideal candidate will have proven expertise in one or more of the following areas:
* Coding software modules for surface and volume mesh generation, analysis, and adaptation (tetrahedral - hexahedral mesh generation for surfaces with kinks, corners). * Conceptual understanding of surface and volume parameterizations. * Has developed/coded algorithms related to surface and volume discretization, mesh repair, local re meshing/ refinement on the volume and surface discretization.
* MS/PhD in computer science, computational geometry, mathematics or related field. * Ability to build computational geometry based software modules from scratch. * 3+ years experience
Nice to have:
* Building and shipping significant software components/Proficiency in C++. * Experience with Linux and AWS. * Exposure to tools like CGAL, libigl, Gmsh.
