The Associate Director, Data and Analytics will be a key team member contributing for the architecture, design, development, implementation, support, maintenance of the analytics platform at Vertex. The Associate Director for Data and Analytics will work directly with internal and external partners in GIS (IT) and the business to deliver BI solutions, utilizing the OBIEE Foundation Suite, the EPM platform and Power BI. The Associate Director, Data and Analytics is adept at all stages of the systems development life cycle, including requirements definition, solution design, development, unit testing, user acceptance testing, validation, and production support. The right candidate is able to work closely and collaboratively with the business, managing scope, project work and associated risks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Design, manage and deploy BI relevant solutions for the business
* Design and develop OBIEE report and dashboard solutions for the business
* Design of the OBIEE Data Model Repository (RPD) and migrations of RPD from development through to production
* Execute analytics projects through the full system development lifecycle to be delivered on time, within budget and with good quality
* Document requirements and BI technical and functional designs
* Partner with Database Engineer and ETL teams to create tables and views to support reporting
* Work directly with business partners to understand reporting requirements and design solutions
* Assist with day-to-day support and maintenance activities for OBIEE platform including upgrades and patching of the environment
* Work with Internal Controls and audit support teams as needed to meet SOX/GXP regulation and change management requirements
* Strong collaboration with business and support the business community through hands on training
* Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

* Experience with analytics and data mart / data warehouse implementations at large decentralized environments
* Experience with OBIEE Security implementation - Application groups/Roles, Catalog Permission, Data provision, etc.
* Experience with offshore development teams, management of enhancements and issues
* Oracle OBIEE Foundation Suite (11g) including BI Publisher (BIP) and RPD development
* Languages: SQL, PL/SQL, scripting languages
* Databases: Oracle, 10G and above, MySQL, MSSQL Server
* OS: Linux, Windows
* Oracle eBusiness Suite (EBS) experience preferred (12.x)
* Weblogic, Hyperion Essbase, Hyperion Planning and Informatica experience a major plus
* Power BI and ServiceNow experience a plus
* Experience with reporting and analytics related to acquisition activity a plus

Minimum Qualifications :

* B.S. and 7 to 10 years work experience with OBIEE

Preferred Qualifications:

* Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills
* Demonstrated solid analytical and problem solving abilities
* Project management and system life cycle expertise
