About Amazon

Job Description

Amazon's aspiration, to be the Earth's most customer-centric company, inspires our focus on providing a vast selection of products and an excellent shopping experience. eCommerce Foundational (eCF) strives to fulfill this aspiration by leading architectural innovation and delivering technology solutions for Amazon's consumer, digital, and other businesses. We are responsible for the core components that drive the Amazon website and customer experience. Serving millions of customer page views and orders per day, eCF builds for scale.

As an organization within eCF, the Business Data Technologies (BDT) group is no exception. We collect petabytes of data from thousands of data sources inside and outside Amazon including the Amazon catalog system, inventory system, customer order system, page views on the website, and Alexa systems. We support Amazon subsidiaries such as IMDB and Audible. We provide interfaces for our internal customers to access and query data hundreds of thousands of times per day, using Amazon Web Service's (AWS) Redshift, Hive, Spark and more. We build scalable solutions that grow with the Amazon business.

BDT is growing, and the data processing landscape is shifting. Our data is consumed by thousands of teams across Amazon including Research Scientists, Machine Learning Specialists, Business Analysts and Data Engineers. We need talented TPMs who are passionate about driving high quality software products and scalable systems . You will be responsible for: collaborating with internal customer teams to understand their goals; strategic planning; project management for software within the team; coordination of project dependencies across teams; and process & quality of service improvements. You will be the person that drives our "working backwards from the customer" approach to designing and delivering solutions. You will be responsible for helping to define our short- and long-term program roadmap and helping to structure projects so that we continually deliver incremental value to our customers.

Successful candidates will: have a technical background; be detail-oriented and data-driven; exhibit excellent problem solving and program management skills. You should not only be passionate about delivering extensible, on-time solutions, but should also be obsessed with contributing to the development of high-performance teams through rigorous goal-setting, disciplined attention to performance metrics, continuous process improvement and mentorship. Come have a big impact by reshaping Amazon's data landscape!
