Sr. Software Engineer - Front End Development Foot Locker

Job Description

Foot Locker, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer in our Front End Development team to develop and support our websites supporting our customer touch points, bringing our technology platform and organization to the next level in quality, innovation and overall business value. He/she will be responsible for planning, successful execution and ongoing support of complex development forced on e-commerce.

* Work closely with the front end manager, scrum master, architects, designers, user experience designers and other development and support groups to translate design/experience into the highest quality and customer driven websites
* Build shared UI components, where brand guidelines and design patterns become atoms, molecules and organisms that come alive for web and mobile
* Demonstrate problem solving, initiative and technical innovation capable of "rolling-up sleeves and getting hands dirty" from content creation, to production support, to testing
* Promote best practice development habits and highest product quality standards through regular code reviews and open team communication
* Ability to work in an Agile coding experience, working with a small team that is in charge of making a big impact fast
* Expert experience in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
* Expert understanding of semantic, compliant and accessible markup (W3C, WAI and WCAG)
* Extensive experience with precompiles such as SCSS or LESS
* Extensive experience with modern JavaScript libraries such as React JS, Angular, or Ember
* Driven to be cross browser and cross device compatible
* Aptitude to problem solve complicated responsive design problems
* Advanced understanding of mobile first methodologies
* Ability to develop reusable components using atomic design principles
* Experience and comfort working with Git Flow
* Experience using Sketch, Zeplin or Adobe Photoshop
* Strong interest in UI/UX and design
* Consistently meets or exceeds deadlines on programming projects
* Consistent upward and downstream communication
* Resourceful, innovative, self-motivated, confident in high stress situations
* At least 5-7 years of prior experience with development projects is required
* Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills

PREFERRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

* HTML5, SASS, JavaScript, React JS
* Experience in Adobe AEM suite a plus
* Experience with WCAG 2.1 or Section 508 a plus
