We're seeking an experienced backend engineer to help build the internal systems and frameworks that powers our high volume services. The Core Services team develops software that allows other engineering teams to craft features in the most robust way, defines the paradigms and tooling that make common cases simple to implement, and ensures the efficiency and traceability of the code we execute. In addition, this team builds and maintains several of the services that power many of the core features of Tumblr.

What you'll do:

As a member of the team, you will help architect the next generation framework for services at Tumblr. We're excited to use event driven architectures, deploy with Kubernetes, and enable the systems you and other teams create to work across multiple data centers and regions. You'll create tooling that is a delight for other developers to use, and write new services that are clear to read, highly performant, and easy to debug and monitor.

What we're looking for:

* Knowledgeable and excitement to create the next generation SOA that all our services will use going forward.
* Experience building very high volume, event driven systems across multiple data centers and regions.
* Desire to create tools that are a delight for other developers to use.
