Job Description

Work hard, have fun, and make history at Amazon Web Services!

The AWS Infrastructure Long Range Business Planning Team is searching for a passionate, talented, and highly organized Sr. Program Manager to run the Capital Approval Request (CAR) process. In this role, you will work across the entire AWS organization to align long range demand for data center capacity and the infrastructure required to meet that demand. You will work across multiple stakeholder teams to lead, automate, and scale the process. You will act as lead for a cross-functional team to help ensure AWS is able to execute and deliver to its capacity plan.

We are always looking for ways to Invent and Simplify. In this role, you will be challenged to continuously improve the process to achieve better and more streamlined results. This could mean creating new KPIs to measure business health, introducing automated tools for manual business processes, or even helping build out new internal products. We are looking for a relentless self-starter that will boldly do what's best for the business to serve our customers.

This is a high-impact and high-visibility role, offering an opportunity to drive and influence business-critical decisions which will have a direct impact on the long-term success of AWS. If you're excited about working in a highly ambiguous, rapidly growing start-up environment, then this is a spot for you.

The ideal candidate for this role is a leader with a passion for process improvement, strong business judgment, exceptional problem-solving skills, and an ability to align cross-functional teams. We're looking for someone with a true pioneering spirit, willing to "get your hands dirty" in a start-up environment while being able to prioritize resources and not lose sight of long term goals. Responsibilities will include the following:

* Manage and support activities required to gain capital expansion approval for critical long lead infrastructure.
* Dive deep into processes and planning models to identify risks and opportunities and resolve constraints by collaborating with stakeholder teams.
* Engage as a stakeholder and thought leader in the development of new metrics, automation of manual processes, and development of new products as required.
* Communicate (both written and verbal) to a wide range of audiences including AWS executive leadership.
