Software Quality Assurance Lead - Genetics Invitae

Job Description

Invitae is currently in search of a SQA lead responsible for testing applications in the field of genetics/molecular biology/bioinformatics and with an interest in analysis and validation of algorithms. You will play a key part in ensuring that the state-of-the-art applications of highly complex genetic data meet or exceed our quality standards. This role requires working alongside software engineers, molecular biologists, and our clinical team to develop products and software tools. You would need to understand the requirements and specifications of new software features being developed for our laboratory information system, variant database, and clinical reporting system. You will guide the SQA team with your vision, test strategy, and prioritization of quality initiatives. You will work with individual teams to optimize and plan the testing and validation of the software and algorithms based on customer usage.

Requirements

* 1-4+ years leadership experience in testing and validating scientific software in a CI Agile environment
* Experience in test automation and test management
* Understanding and knowledge of all aspects of software development life cycle
* Attention to detail and organization
* Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
* Experience working in cross-functional teams, especially with software engineers
* Bachelors/Masters degree, or industry experience in genetics or a related field
