Job Description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

You will be working in the Container Engine team, helping us innovate and develop our public cloud capabilities at a time when the move towards these higher level platform services has never been stronger.

While working within our small, focused team, you will do the following:

* You'll be writing code in Go for our large scale, highly available container service
* Developing, testing and releasing software in Oracle's public cloud.
* Working with container technologies Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Flannel, and a bunch more
* Deploying and operating your software in data-centers across the globe.
* Participating in the software engineering community at Oracle and beyond.
* Discussing potential solutions to complex technical problems
* Collaborating with open source communities and contributing to open source projects.
* Learning a new skill or trying a new way of working.
* Teaching someone else a skill.

We are flexible about education and experience but we think this role is suited to someone with at least a bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and at least 5 to 10 years of experience as a software engineer/developer.
