As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will help to create a state of the art Avionics software configuration management system. Your contribution enables Blue to store configuration items, process configuration items into full-fledged Avionics software configurations, deploy them to the rocket and ground support equipment, and verify that the correct Avionics Software and configuration is installed on the New Glenn system. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of the development life cycle from design, implementation, testing, to deployment of the back-end of Avionics software configuration management system. This hands on position requires a commitment to quality and attention to detail commensurate with safe human spaceflight and provides an opportunity to directly impact the history of human space exploration. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight

Responsibilities

* Demonstrate technical leadership throughout all design activities
* Design, code, test and deploy new features and systems
* Design scalable and reliable distributed systems and iterate based on operational metrics
* Develop in an agile team including building consensus on designs and participating in code reviews
* Integrate with off-the-shelf systems using APIs, custom service layers, work queues, and monitoring solutions
* Think outside the box. Challenge why things are done a certain way and figure out ways to build solutions better

Qualifications

* Minimum of a B.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, physics, mathematics, or other major requiring engineering core courses
* Minimum of 7+ years of experience developing distributed systems
* Strong experience in Java and the surrounding ecosystem
* Experience in multiple coding languages
* Experienced with MySQL or other databases
* Experience with modern full-stack web development, primary focus on back-end with some front-end experience
* Experience designing both relational and non-relational databases
* A demonstrated ability to develop complex end-to-end software
* The ability to quickly absorb information in an unfamiliar domain and translate it into software
* A self-driven nature with the ability to seek out requirements and propose solutions with minimal direction
* Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
* Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Desired

* Exposure to configuration management systems
* Experience with aerospace systems
* Familiarity with Amazon Web Services
* Experience with unit testing and test driven development
* Experience with C# or Python
* Experience with Linux, Docker, Jenkins, REST APIs, databases
