We are looking for a Software Development Manager for Kindle Reader to help us unlock the next stages of our growth and continue to delight more and more customers around the world.

As a Software Development Manager for Kindle Reader, you will lead a large development team throughout the entire product life-cycle to define tech strategy, deliver core user experiences for Kindle apps on iOS, Android and Fire tablets, as well as the development framework and engineering system that supports hundreds of engineers across Kindle org to deliver innovations at scale. A successful candidate will have an established background in developing customer-facing experiences, a strong technical ability, excellent project management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment. You will be helping to hire and build your team and systems. You must be highly analytical, able to work extremely effectively in a matrix organization, and adept at breaking apart complicated problems solving with simple, elegant and scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities:

* manage a group of very talented software development engineers and lead the development of large-scale features that provides our customers the best-in-class reading experiences.
* work closely with product managers, UX designers, technical program managers and partner teams to scope ambiguous problems, analyze the requirements, and lead to the best solutions.
* dive deep into complicated problems across Kindle Reading applications on variety of platforms, practice excellent project management, set expectations on delivery both upstream and downstream of your team in an agile environment.
* collaborate with cross functional teams, work closely with other leaders across Kindle and provide both strategic and tactical oversight to influence the Reader technical and business strategy.
* drive the architectural improvement of the large Reader codebase, improve the quality and feature velocity, and add value to our business.
