About Amazon

Job Description

With over 80 million members, Goodreads is the world's largest site for readers and book recommendations. As a Top 100 web destination, our mission is to help people find and share books they love. Goodreads members can discover new books by seeing what their friends and members of the community are reading or by using the Goodreads Book Recommendation Engine. Our platform also helps more than 220,000 authors to connect with readers. Goodreads is a subsidiary of Amazon, Inc.

The Revenue Engineering Team is focused on building products for our advertising partners, partner Amazon teams, and end users. We build experiences to allow advertisers to sponsor their content across Goodreads surfaces, including custom marketing experiences for large customers. We help book publishers and movie studios, among other brands, in promoting the launching of new books and products. We support our Editorial team in delivering curated newsletters to our members. We also support our Authors and author programs by offering sponsored giveaways products, Author Q&A and sharing Kindle Notes and Highlights. While we have lots of customer facing and front-end oriented products, we also work regularly with Native AWS backend infrastructure, especially to help the targeting of selected content to the most interested people.

As a Software Development Engineer, you will develop customer-facing experiences in a fast paced environment. You will provide hands-on coding & development, and should be comfortable working in an environment where code is pushed into production multiple times in a day.

You are the ideal candidate if you have a full stack mindset and are keen working both on front end technologies and back end services. You are comfortable on tech designs of individual components within larger integrated architectures. You are curious to learn new technologies that can help solve our use cases faster. The successful candidate will thrive in a culture of experimentation and innovation, but also have a proven track record of delivering results to solve challenging problems.
