The AT&T Entertainment Group Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) team is looking for a Specialist -Software Engineer to join the team.
The SRE team is responsible for supporting the operations and development organizations by building automation tooling, supporting and improving monitoring and observability, and improving the reliability of our services.
We are looking for a Specialist -Software Engineer that will:
* Design, build, and maintain platform tooling needed to monitor and manage a large set of distributed microservices * Serve as a subject matter expert for multiple proprietary and open source technologies * Develop automation to improve the availability, manageability, scalability and operability of services * Solve performance and stability issues and prevent their recurrence * Develop other tools and systems to support best-in-class application life-cycle management, including automated canary testing, automated rollback, and integrated monitoring and alerting. * Work with development teams on evaluating services and improving them based on best practices. *
* * Bachelor's degree * * 1-2 years' experience with software development (preferable in Java, Python, NodeJS, Go; our primary languages) * * 1-year experience developing, managing or monitoring distributed microservices * * 1-year experience working in cloud computing services * * Development skills (preferable in Java, Python, NodeJS, Go; our primary languages) * * Intermediate administration knowledge of Unix/Linux systems * * Ability to quickly drive root-cause analysis for issues with high traffic, large scale distributed systems * * Strong communication skills; experience with evaluating and communicating value of new technologies or system improvements to both technical and non-technical audiences * * Thrive in a highly collaborative environment practicing significant amounts of shared work and paired development. * *
