Amazon Music is awash in data! To help make sense of it all, the Metrics & Data Platform teams provide high quality data, insights, and self-service platforms enabling Music to go big with data. This position will help leadership evolve our data and platform technical strategy and work across our platform and data teams to implement high impact projects. We collect billions of behavioral and operational events daily and our platform is used by 45+ teams in music including BI, Personalization, Search, and Marketing.
This role would work across Metrics & Data Platform which is made up of four teams (Music Data Experience, Music Data Quality, Music Events Platform, Music Data Platform) and influence design and implementation of technical data projects across the organization. You'll be working on and advising across the spectrum of:
* - Event modeling and design including understanding client and service capabilities to inform our design decisions * - Events platform evolution to enable scalable and secure events collection, persistence, monitoring and distribution in real time * - Big data pipeline management, insights datasets, anomoly detection, and ML modeling for data quality * - Data platform evolution including Data Lake, Redshift Data Warehousing, ML platforms, Orchestration and Discovery layers.
In Metrics & Data Platform, we drive repeatable, easy, in depth analysis of music customer behaviors. We reduce the cost in time and effort of analysis, data set building, model building, and user segmentation and provide secure and compliant tooling that scales. You are a seasoned and talented Senior Engineer in Data Engineering or Software Development who knows how to take on big data challenges in an agile way. Duties include designing and building big data pipelines, ML models, and data platform architecture to scale, and mentoring and developing peers in the the Metrics & Data Platform team including Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Software Engineers.You'll also help drive our technical strategy for data at Music and enable Amazon Music's most important data sets, by building out our insights capabilities and platform to enable processing, publishing, sharing, and discovery of data.
With our Amazon Music Unlimited and Prime Music services, and our top music provider spot on the Alexa platform, providing high quality, high availability data to our internal customers is critical to our customer experiences. In 2019 Metrics & Data Platform will invest significantly in data quality, insights datasets, and domain data support, and improve our platform with a scalable data lake, multi-tenancy and self-service in our events platform, and an EMR/Spark processing and orchestration layer. We will also automate the management of our Multi-Cluster Redshift Enterprise Data Warehouse, and further develop our machine learning platform capabilities.
