AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) enables customers to secure their workloads in the cloud by providing authentication and authorization mechanisms to all of AWS. We run some of the highest scale, performant and available services in AWS.

We are looking for a senior software developer who is technically very strong, with deep knowledge in web services, backend storage design, and distributed systems, takes pride in tackling challenges, excels at working in an agile environment, and gets excited about owning the architecture of a set of critical platform services that serve customers globally every second of every day. You will provide technical leadership to the team that owns design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operation of new global distributed systems that are core to all AWS services. As a member of the IAM leadership team you will help set and meet aggressive goals. By working with customers and other leaders throughout AWS, you will help shape our long term technical and business strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

* Architecture, design, code ownership for long-term product strategy for AWS Authentication and Authorization services.
* Owning end-to-end product design, development and operations for low-latency, high-availability Authentication and Authorization services.
* Mentoring and coaching performance management for a best-in-class engineering team.
* Ownership and continuous improvement of all operational metrics and automation tools for your team's software.
* Executing against project plans and delivery commitments; Managing day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment
