Job Description

Prime Video is disrupting traditional media with an ever-increasing selection of movies, TV shows, Emmy Award winning original content, add-on subscriptions including HBO and Showtime, and live events like Thursday Night Football. Our services are engineered for high availability, maximum reach, and cost savings we can pass on to customers. We enable the world to watch video instantly, from any device, whether on the road or from the comfort of a living room sofa.

Linear content is unique for customers in the sense that it provides a) the availability of live event broadcasts such as Grammy's, Australian Open, Winter Olympics and b) provides content for 'zone out' situations wherein customers don't spend too much time figuring out what to watch.

We are building a new team to disrupt the Live TV viewing experience. The team designs, implements, and operates the systems responsible for enabling Live TV experience to the Prime Video customers worldwide. This is a young and evolving business where creativity and drive can make a lasting impact on world-wide consumer entertainment.

We are looking for a seasoned professional to play a significant part in leading this program from concept through execution. The right candidate will possess a strong program management background, will have demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects across multiple teams, and will have a well-rounded technical background in current web technologies. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. You will be able to support your team in anticipating bottlenecks, providing escalation management, anticipating and making tradeoffs, and balancing the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected.

You will have an enormous opportunity to impact the customer experience, design, architecture, and implementation of cutting-edge products that will be used every day by people you know. No matter what the role, we're looking for people who are passionate about innovating on behalf of customers, demonstrate a high degree of ownership, and want to have fun while they make history.
