Job Description

Bethesda Game Studios is seeking a talented Senior Level Designer to join our Austin team. The Senior Level Designer will design, build, script, and maintain level content for our games.

Responsibilities

* Create high quality open world multiplayer level content
* Use proprietary toolset to design, build, script, and optimize game areas
* Work closely with lead level designer to ensure consistency, scope, and quality of content
* Work closely with environment art, quest design and systems design teams to ensure game areas meet established art and design goals
* Review levels and provide constructive feedback to fellow designers to help improve the product
* Serve as a product owner for content-related strike team initiatives
* Maintain legacy content and make required bug fixes
* Assist in mentoring junior members of the design team

Requirements

* 5+ years of professional Level Design experience
* Experience shipping a AAA game or patching/maintaining a live game
* Excellent sense of 3D game space and environmental storytelling
* Experience designing, building, and populating game levels
* Experience with text-based scripting languages
* Excellent communication and documentation skills
* Strong familiarity with a variety of open world multiplayer games
* Candidate must be self-driven, with a strong focus and attention to detail
* Candidate must supply a portfolio featuring examples of their work
* Candidate must be willing to take a level design test

Desired Skills

* Experience with level design using modular kits
* Experience creating content for an online multiplayer game
* Creative writing and dialogue
* Experience using quest tools
* Experience with The Elder Scrolls Construction Set or GECK
* Strong familiarity with BGS games, especially Fallout
* Experience creating content for and supporting a live game
