Job Summary

Position summary:

Nuance is seeking a Sr. Front End Web Developer to join the User Interace Development Team that is dedicated to building enterprise-scale HTML5-based web applications for a large portfolio of global Fortune 500 clients. This role will specifically work on our web chat agent desktop platform, which enables our clients' chat agents to chat with customers via the web, SMS, Twitter, and many other digital communication channels. This role will use advanced JavaScript and other modern HTML5/web technologies to serve as a key contributor to the #1 business-to-consumer chat platorm in the industry.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

* Translate feature requirements from Product Management into actionable software designs.
* Writing code based in JavaScript, HTML, & CSS (built on Ember.js) while using a Test-Driven Development (TDD) workflow.
* Participate in recurring Agile meetings (daily scrums, sprint planning, retrospectives).
* Perform peer code reviews on fellow developers' pull requests.
* Perform ongoing product maintenance & bug resolution activities.
* Rapidly address reported regressions and technical issues escalated by clients.
* Collaborate with colleagues across multiple teams to regularly improve and optimize our software development processes.
* Participate in feature implementation projects that span multiple software development teams.
* Perform tasks related to securing and keeping the products, tools, and processes that you are responsible for securing

Knowledge, skills and qualifications -

Education: A 4-year bachelors degree in a relevant field is preferred

Minimum years of work experience: 3+ years

Required skills:

* Advanced JavaScript and HTML5 expertise* Ability to translate feature requirements into actionable software designs* git

Preferred skills:

* Ember.js (our framework of choice) and/or other modern JavaScript SPA frameworks* Ember CLI* Test automation expertise (QUnit, Mocha, Selenium)* Expertise in building WCAG 2.1 compliant web interfaces (including usage of screen readers such as JAWS, VoiceOver, NVDA)
