Position Title: Senior Developer

Senior Developer: Lead the design, development and implementation of Cognos based enterprise reports employing agile development methodologies within a Waterfall environment. Work in business intelligence, analytics and development and help envision, design and deploy analytics solutions. Contribute to multiple phases of the software solution life cycle.

Specific responsibilities will include:

* Participate in business analysis activities to gather required technical reporting and dashboard requirements.
* Translate business requirements into technical specifications that will be used to implement the reports and dashboards, created from potentially multiple data sources.
* Convert legacy technical reports from primarily Business Objects to Cognos Business Intelligence ("BI") solutions.
* Finalize and transition developed reports and dashboards to the Operations and Support team.
* Provide technical support as required to ensure the availability and performance of developed reports and dashboards for both external and internal users.
* Analyze user needs and develop software solutions.
* Ensure proper configuration management, change controls systems, and technical applications are implemented for assigned sphere of influence.
* Design and implement technology best practices, guidelines and repeatable processes.
* Analyze client's needs to develop technical solutions for range of commercial operations.
* Coordinate development effort with offshore resources and execute project estimates and project tracking.
* Analyze database performance using Informix and provide technical assistance and cross training to other team members.
* Communicate and collaborate effectively with clients and team members on design, programming and solution approaches to meet contracted technical requirements.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a closely related technical field or a Bachelor's degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a closely related technical field based upon a combination of education and experience as determined by a qualified evaluation service, plus 5 years of experience designing and implementing IBM Cognos Business Intelligence (BI) solutions.

Must also have: (I) 5 years of experience must include 2 years of experience in Analytics/Business Intelligence solution delivery. (II) Understanding of multi-dimensional concepts and of data warehouse principles. (III) Knowledge of Business Intelligence and Enterprise Performance Management principles. (IV) Exposure to multiple Business Intelligence (BI) toolsets. (V) Background in dimensional data modeling, data integration, and data visualization. (VI) Proven track record understanding business dynamics and translating business performance management needs into specific performance indicators and the required technical solution. (VII) Knowledge of SQL Language. (VIII) Background leveraging Cloud-based architectures. (IX) Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills. Cognos Business Intelligence (BI) certification.
