Job Description

Position Summary

The QA Analyst is responsible for adhering to standardized QA policies, processes, documentation standards, creating test cases, assisting with automating test scripts,overseeing and/or participating in all aspects of project testing, overseeing IS QA test environments, providing technical guidance to less senior QA team members, and ensuring schedule adherence for assigned projects and initiatives.

Job Duties/Essential Functions

* Participates in requirements & use case/user story reviews
* Provides accurate estimates for QA effort, QA schedules, and QA resource requirements
* Creates and gains project approval on project test plans
* Creates and/or oversees the creation and approval of project test cases
* Assists with automating and executing automated test cases
* Oversees or generates all QA-related documentation
* Ensures adherence to standardized QA policies, processes and documentation standards
* Works directly with system administrators and db administrators to facilitate testing
* Executes test cases, defect management, and adherence to test schedule
* Coordinates onshore and offshore testing
* Helps mentor and develop other members of the IS QA team
* Responsible for UAT support and testing production defect fixes
* Keeps up to date with source code, version management, and code deployment standards and for utilizing this knowledge to ensure that QA processes and procedures for test environments are followed and that the integrity of the various environments is not compromised.
* Attends daily standup meetings and provides testing status
* Provides weekly QA project status reports
* Attends bi-weekly sprint completion meetings and demo to stakeholders

Experience, skills, education & licenses/certifications

Required:

* Minimum 5 years of software quality assurance experience
* Minimum 5 years' experience testing in one or more of the following environments: Cloud based testing, UI testing, Functional testing, n-tier client/server, and RDBMS
* Minimum 4 years' hands-on experience using HP, IBM, or other industry standard SQA tools
* Minimum 2 years' experience with Oracle or MS SQL Server or DB2 and the ability to write SQL queries using table joins
* Strong knowledge of Agile, SDLC, and SQA methodology
* Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem solving skills
* Excellent test resource planning and test scheduling skills
* Ability to produce and mentor others in creation of effective software test plans and test cases
* Ability to write quality defects and work directly with developers to resolve the defects
* Solid understanding of build tools and software configuration management standards
* Ability to communicate and work closely with other teams: System administration, db administration, Test data management etc.,

Recommended:

* Good understanding of data warehouse concepts, star schema models
* 2 years' experience using C#, C++, Java, JavaScript etc in the test automation process
* 2 years' experience using Automation tool HP QTP, HPE UFT, Ranorex etc.,
* 2 years' SQA experience working within an iterative development framework
* 2 years' experience leading offshore testing a plus
* 3-plus years' as a test lead preferred
* 3 years' project management experience to include scheduling
* Experience with multiple Costco business areas/systems
* Degree in computer science or a related technical field preferred
* Successful internal candidates will have spent one year or more on their current team
