Job Description

Raytheon is supporting a U.S. Government customer on a large mission critical development and sustainment program to design, build, deliver, and operate a network operations environment, including introducing new cyber capabilities to address emerging threats. Raytheon Cybersecurity and Special Missions (CSM) is seeking a Principal Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and IBM PureData Systems Administrator to support the design, development, and deployment of advanced cybersecurity capabilities.

Responsibilities Include Performing the Following:

* Basic RHEL (6 & 7) system administrator functions
* RHEL OS updates
* RHEL OS security configuration / STIG procedures and updates
* RHEL OS security patch updates
* PureData NZ related security patch updates
* PureData NZ database security patch updates
* PureData NZ database user account creation
* PureData NZ database table creation
* PureData NZ database access control procedures
* Vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to aid in the Certification & Approval process
* Working with IBM engineering staff, as necessary, to mitigate and resolve security vulnerabilities in applications and appliances

Required Skills:

* Must be a US Citizen
* Active Top Secret (TS) clearance. Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
* Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability
* 8+ years of relevant system administration experience
* 4+ years experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL6/RHEL7 preferred) with the ability to engineer, install, administer and maintain network architectures
* 4+ years experience with IBM PureData
* Proficient in RHEL OS installation, security hardening, and maintenance
* Experience with administration and management of RHEL servers to include installation, configuration, optimization, backup & recovery
* Understanding of big data and data analytics
* Experience working with large structured and unstructured data sets
* SQL development skills
* Experience with Linux/Unix tools and shell scripts
* Ability to manage changes to the system and assesses the security impact of those changes
* Familiarity of configuration management
* Excellent research, analytical, and problem solving skills
* Good communication skills including preparing and presenting results, findings and alternatives and influencing management decision making based on the best available data

Desired Skills:

* Experience with the trade-offs of various RHEL configurations on performance and data quality
* Ability to support both SQL and NoSQL data management systems
* Expertise in other RDBMS platforms such as Oracle RAC and SQL Server
* Experience with software development using java, RESTful services
* Comfortable with multilevel security systems, SELinux, and/or Cross Domain Solutions
* Experience with data orchestration software such as Apache NiFi or StreamSets
* Experience with distributed compute environments such as Hadoop
* Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps environments
* Familiarity with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework)

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field. Two years of related work experience may be substituted for each year of degree level education.

Desired Certifications (one or more of the following):

* DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II
* Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
* Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
* IBM Certified Data Engineer - Big Data or similar certification
