Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

As part of Server Technologies, we are customer facing development team and looking for developers having right aptitude, attitude and very strong communication skills in driving and resolving product issues faced by Oracle Customers.

Our team works on all Database competencies and candidate for this role would be working on Exadata (Engineered Systems), one of the highly visible and revenue generating products for Oracle. Exadata being main platform of the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, any issue or problem faced by customer(s) in cloud is of very high impact.

Your responsibilities include resolving customer issues at a faster pace and be able to switch contexts/priorities between multiple customer issues. Actual development work starts once the issue is resolved. You will be responsible to improve the product by adding diagnostic enhancements to be able to detect/catch problems easily, improving autonomous aspect in detecting and correcting the problem (without user intervention), work on new features, develop tools that could help improve the operational efficiency in debugging/analyzing the data gathered around the problems.

Any development experience in IO subsystem, Operating Systems, Storage technologies would be a plus. Work is non-routine, complex and highly visible with customer success being the main focus. You are expected to have experience in product life cycle management (design, development, testing & maintenance) and aware of standard development practices and procedures. As a member of the customer facing development team, you will be responsible for engaging on customer issues and may have to face customer calls to understand, explain and resolve the problem for them . Also responsible to drive the issues to closure meeting organization's SLAs.

Important requirements:

* Prior Experience: Require MS/BS degree and/or equivalent 7-10 years of experience in Development and well versed with processes in Software Development Life Cycle
* Strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming Concepts
* Programming Languages: C/C , Java, Scripting (Perl, Python, Shell)
* Very strong communication skills and need to be a good team player and also provide direction and mentoring to others.
