We strive to transform the promise of science and technology into therapies that have the power to cure, prevent, or treat disease. Together we deliver life-saving therapies to millions of patients in need. Our scientific focus has resulted in marketed products that are benefiting millions of people, a pipeline of late-stage drug candidates, and unmatched patient access programs to ensure medications are available to those who could otherwise not afford them. By joining Gilead, you will further our mission to address unmet medical needs and improve life by advancing the care of patients with life-threatening diseases.

People Analytics Analyst II

Overview:

Gilead has a small People Analytics team that supports more than 11,000 employees and an even bigger mission: helping the organization make better people decisions so we can more effectively pursue innovative treatments for unmet medical needs. The team is seeking a new member to help meet the growing demand for using data to drive impact. Our diverse team works with employees across all levels of the organization and around the world. We are stewards of the data tasked with efficiently finding answers to business-relevant questions (e.g., "Why has turnover gone up in my group?", "What's the return on investment of an employee having a coach?", "What factors best accelerate the advancement of females in our organization?", etc.). Our team's small size means that all members have the opportunity to participate in all phases of the work from data pulling to analyzing to communicating insights to stakeholders.

The Role:

Leaders, HR business partners, and other stakeholders often have questions that can be informed by analyzing our people data. This role involves understanding those requests, pulling relevant data from our systems or other sources, checking the accuracy of the data, running appropriate analyses, drawing conclusions based on the data, distilling insights into a deliverable, and communicating your findings to stakeholders. The proportion of the role focused on analyzing data or presenting results will vary depending on the interests and skills of the candidate. A key component of the role is the ability to formulate and run appropriate analyses to answer stakeholders' questions. This is a fast-paced, high-growth-potential role where high expectations are matched by significant opportunities for development, recognition, and advancement.

Other responsibilities may include: designing and administering surveys, wrangling new data sources into our database, consulting on the measurement of employee experiences and sentiments, advising partners on the use of HR data, and working with the technical team to create new dashboards.

Responsibilities:

* Foster relationships with leaders, HR business partners, and other stakeholders to understand and best address questions that can be informed by analyses of our people data.
* Pull relevant data from our systems or other sources and ensure data accuracy.
* Formulate and run appropriate analyses to answer stakeholders' key questions.
* Draw accurate conclusions from analyses, distill insights into deliverables, and communicate your findings to stakeholders.
* Design and administer surveys, consulting on the measurement of employee experiences and sentiments, and advising partners on the use of HR data.
* Wrangle new data sources into our database and work with the technical team to create insightful new dashboards.
* The proportion of the role focused on analyses or presenting will vary depending on the interests and skills of the candidate.

Qualifications:

* Integrity: We're uncompromising when it comes to protecting employee data and treating it with respect. Additionally, our data are extremely clean and we expect all analyses and presentations to be as accurate.
* Analytical mindset: We approach problems with humble curiosity to learn, explore, and mine the data for insights. We place a premium on accurate, replicable, and understandable analyses that have a practical impact.
* Desire to contribute: We're a small team that has many opportunities to make significant contributions to our company's important mission. Opportunities here are not bounded by your education degree, previous experience, gender, etc.; only by the amount of effort you're willing to put in to help our organization deliver on its mission. We work as if patients' lives depend on it, because they do.
* People analytics, human resources, visual analytics, and machine learning knowledge is desired but not required.

Education and Experience:

* Experience with Excel, R/Python, SQL, PowerBI, or Tableau is desired.
* BA or BS degree with 4+ years of relevant experience.
* 2+ years People Analytics experience is preferred.
