Role Summary:
As an AiRXOS prototype engineer, your job will to come up with creative, scalable prototypes that integrate UAVs, sensors, and our product. You will be challenged daily with looking at disparate systems and figuring out ways to get them to interact with a prototype and contribute directly to the success of innovative cloud based unmanned aerial and autonomous flight operations ecosystem.
Essential Responsibilities:
You are required to build something quick without a lot of coding from the underlying systems, to the network with the onboard avionics, then to our cloud-based products. You will work closely with our pilots, mechanical engineers, software engineers, and product managers to prototype functional systems that can then be demonstrated to clients or used in the field for our own testing.

Be responsible for developing prototype functional systems
Work with Product Line Leaders (PLLs) to understand product requirements & vision
Support impact assessment and decision related to technology choices, design /architectural considerations and implementation strategy
Be onsite support for multiple product prototypes
Qualifications/Requirements:
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
3-5 years of experience with writing and field-testing prototype code
Eligibility Requirements
Travel 30%
Must be willing to work out of an office located in Boston, MA
Desired Characteristics:
Experience in wireless technologies
Experience with geospatial coordinates and knowledge of different standards such as WGS84 within aviation
Familiarity with writing web apps (backend and front end) even in PHP.
Some experience with JavaScript/typescript
Experience with Django or some other similar framework
Experience in Java, JVM
Strong knowledge of Python or Perl. Preferably both. With the ability to write error free asynchronous or multi-threaded scripts
Ability to write regular expression
Some experience with an SQL based database (Postgres, MySQL)
Experience with writing code to interact via protocols such as telnet, http, etc.
Ability to think on your feet and not get flustered by infield debugging on time sensitive events.
Ability to read an API documentation and come up with novel ways to integrate and apply that API
A self-starter who will see a problem, identify solutions, and attempt different ways to solve it.
Ability to solve problems creatively
