About the China Team (located in San Francisco)

Airbnb China is a major business unit of Airbnb. We exist to provide Chinese guests with unique travel experiences and help them belong anywhere. At the same time, the market is rapidly growing and expected to encompass a large portion of our user base.

China is also a unique market and has posed many interesting challenges to us. The typical user is heavily skewed towards using our mobile apps, making your work all the more impactful.

The China (SF) mobile team is responsible for the China-facing mobile app in relation to financial risk, customer risk, infra, search, compliance and customer experience. Examples include AliPay based payments and authentication, WeChat mini-app integration and tailor-made screens to improve guest safety. We work closely with other teams in San Francisco and Beijing to build out these features.

The Role

Mobile engineers will work with closely with designers and backend engineers to implement features across a wide spectrum of the Chinese Airbnb app. There will often be chances to collaborate with the global (non-Chinese) teams as well.

We use technologies developed in-house as well as the latest open-source libraries to allow for a performant and state-of-the-art app.

Minimum Requirements:

* Bachelor's and/or Master's degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience
* iOS development experience
* Proficiency in Swift or Objective-C. Experience with both is a plus.
* Preferred: Experience shipping several apps
* Interest in innovations within the mobile industry
* Understanding of mobile architecture principles
