About the China Team (located in San Francisco)

Infrastructure at Airbnb China empowers the entire China team through building localized infrastructure and backend services. We are passionate to:

* Build and maintain big data infrastructures and pipelines to ensure a high-quality end-to-end dataflow
* Identify productivity blockers for engineers and data scientists in Beijing office; Deliver improvements and new solutions to help them moving even faster
* Create performant backend services tailored for the uniqueness of China market and Chinese users.
* Build localized infrastructure to serve Airbnb China out of China

Minimum Requirements:

* 2+ years of industry experience
* Bachelor's and/or Master's degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience
* Solid software engineering and coding skills. Ability to write high performance production quality code in Java / C++ / Python / Scala
* General knowledge and experience of building large scale distributed system
* Data-driven mindset and good analytical skills
* Experience and passion to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams such as design, product, data science, research partners, legal, and etc.

Preferred but not Required:

* Event relay and streaming: Kafka, Spark Streaming, Kinesis, Flink
* Experience with open source big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Presto, and Spark
* Experience with data at petabyte scale or machine learning
* Amazon Web Services ecosystems: EC2, S3, RDS (MySQL), DynamoDB
* Experience with building data stores and services that operate across multiple data centers
