Head of Strategy and Enterprise Architecture

Mercer Global Technology are creating a new position, Head of Strategy and Architecture, in order to improve business agility, modernise our portfolio and drive a Cloud first agenda. This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to shape the Global technology strategy and drive real change across the application portfolio. Reporting directly to Mercer's Chief Information Officer, you will join a leadership team focused on up-skilling and evolving the technology function.

Within this role you will be accountable for Mercer's Global Technology strategy and conformance of current, new and amended IT services to that strategy. From an architecture perspective you will be accountable for the overall Enterprise Architecture and the development of technology strategies, solutions and services. You will act as the primary interface into MMC's Group Enterprise Architecture function, ensuring Mercer is aligned and adheres to MMC architecture standards, guidelines and principles. You will also partner with Mercer's Digital team to ensure consistent architecture guidelines and principles are applied across the firm.

As the Head of IT Strategy & Architecture you will partner with the technology delivery organisation in order to ensure Global Technology is engaging with the business and to make sure that business plans are informed by IT providing an easy to use IT "front door" to capture business demand for services. You will develop and govern the Global Technology strategy in line with wider business strategies and manage the development and delivery of the Enterprise Architecture capability.

As Head of IT Strategy & Architecture you will be responsible for defining prioritised technology roadmaps that optimise the application portfolio based on the Global Technology and business strategic needs. You will work with both the Global Technology delivery and modernisation organisations to develop rationalisation plans which they will execute. You will also coordinate annual and strategic business planning for Global Technology.

As Head of IT Strategy & Architecture you will ensure that approved MMC IT strategies flow through architecture and design activities and the programme portfolio delivers appropriate outcomes for the business.

To be successful in this role you will have as much of the following as possible:

* Proven strategic and Enterprise Architecture role experience.
* Have a thorough and broad understanding of technology to ensure valuable insights can be given to all technology challenges.
* Have experience of working in a senior leadership position.
* Have a good understanding of enterprise architecture at all tiers to enable effective leadership.
* Have a strong Cloud and Agile delivery background in order to develop and deliver strategies in this space.
* Have experience in developing technology strategies and managing them in a delivery context.
* Have experience in IT departmental planning and budgeting.
* Have excellent stakeholder management and business engagement skills.
* Have a solid understanding of security, privacy and regulatory requirements.
* The ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organisation.
* Ability to present effectively to senior business leaders.

If you have any of the follow qualifications then these would be a bonus but are not essential to being successful in the role: Togaf, ITIL, Prince2, MSP, CISSP
