Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a senior leader to drive the creative vision and customer experience for our website (aws.amazon.com) and digital properties. AWS is the world's fastest growing, multi-billion dollar technology company and provides the technology powering over a million active customers in 190 countries. Cloud computing is arguably one of the most impactful developments in technology in the last 20 years. As our new Head of Website Design, you will lead and inspire a multidisciplinary design team that is responsible for overall UI, UX, and motion interaction.

We are seeking a seasoned design leader with experience managing an extensive creative portfolio, building a long-term strategy and roadmap to improve the customer experience of our digital properties, and ultimately innovating towards desirable, scalable, and feasible products by simplifying complex customer and business interactions into simple and intuitive experiences.

The ideal candidate has strong business leadership skills, including communication skills to influence leadership in subjective areas. The role requires the ability to develop ideas quickly in response to business needs, understand engineering tradeoffs when developing new digital experiences, and capability to leverage data when weighing design decisions. While you will manage a team of highly talented designers, you will also need experience managing agency resources we leverage during times of peak/burst capacity.

Responsibilities

* Manage a team of highly talented designers; art directors, UX & visual designers, and production talent
* Set the long-term vision for the AWS website and additional digital properties
* Collaborate with senior leaders across AWS; product marketing, field marketing, events, etc.
* Leverage focus groups, usability studies, etc. to work backwards from our customers to improve their experience on our website.
* Document project successes and communicate to the wider business
* Push the team to create compelling, multi-use case design patterns
